Amsterdam, May 9th, 2011 – As of today the new website of MassiveTalent, the talent scout division of music agency MassiveMusic, is online (http://www.massive-talent.com). The website connects unknown artists with ad agencies and film producers.

MassiveTalent

With its recently launched new website MassiveTalent, part of Amsterdam based MassiveMusic, has transformed into a fully fledged talent company. “Two years ago we developed the idea to set up a department that focuses exclusively on linking undiscovered musical talent to advertising campaigns, movies and games. It was a logical step for us, because we are approached daily by advertising agencies and film producers from around the world in need of musical advice”, says Philip Oomen, who heads the MassiveTalent department. Oomen: "The traditional music industry has collapsed, but we realized that an enormous amount of wonderful music is waiting to be discovered through online platforms like Bandcamp and SoundCloud.”

MassiveTalent actively searches for great songs and signs them for representation in the advertising and entertainment industry. "With every successful link-up, or 'sync' as it is also called, you see that interest in such a song increases tremendously, which can lead to the breakthrough of an artist", says Oomen. Artists realize this and have discovered MassiveTalent as their gateway to success. Consequently the company currently represents no less than 87 bands and singer/songwriters. “We are especially proud of the quality of the music. The new website gives much more space to the artists. We have added artist profiles and obviously the site features streaming audio for all the music in our catalog", says Dieuwertje Heuvelings, one of MassiveTalent’s talent scouts.

Already clients are very positive about MassiveTalent’s vast array of new musical talent: just recently Swedish artist My Name Is Not John was chosen for a campaign for the Austrian energy company OMV. Previously MassiveTalent succesfully contected artist Bruno Merz to the Holywood Blockbuster Life As We Know It.

New Talent Portfolio Night

Last April 26th, MassiveTalent organized the second edition of the New Talent Portfolio Night, along with the Dutch fashion, arts and lifestyle magazine BLEND and the platform for young creative talent _Streetlab. The event was held in Pakhuis De Zwijger in Amsterdam. Especially for up-coming production talent, musicians, DJs, talent bookers and bands, a very prominent line-up of professionals answered questions and gave feedback on demos and plans. The evening began with a panel discussion between Remy Meijer (manager Go Back To The Zoo), Bertus de Blaauw (talent booker Lowlands Festival) and Tijs van Liemt (3FM Serious Talent) about what you need to do to get airplay and be booked at festivals. The rest of the night consisted of 12 rounds of speed dating for all the available talent, during which they each had 10 minutes with different masters to ask questions and get an opinion about their music.
