London,16 November 2011 - It all started in Amsterdam. Then New York, Los Angeles and Shanghai followed. Now global music powerhouse MassiveMusic has also landed in London. Music and advertising industry veterans Paul Reynolds and Nico Steiger are heading up the newest addition to the MassiveMusic family and proudly launch their new office on Thursday 17 November. Of course they will celebrate this in typical MassiveMusic fashion: by throwing a banging party!

Buzzing hub of creativity

Opening a London office was long overdue. “We were waiting until we found the right people with the Massive-DNA", says MassiveMusic founder and CEO Hans Brouwer. "After successfully setting up offices in New York, Los Angeles and Shanghai, this actually felt like the right moment to step in."

MassiveMusic London is based on Curtain Road, in Shoreditch, just East of The City. The reason for this is quite simple: Shoreditch is a buzzing hub of diverse creativity, a great neighbourhood with many bars and clubs where talented people from the advertising industry and the music business congregate. “The London ad scene is the most creative, biggest, best scene in the world”, enthuses managing director Paul Reynolds. “And the Strongroom recording studios, among others, are just down the road. When needed, we might use some of their extra facilities such as audio post. That’s just an example of how convenient and inspiring our new neighbourhood is."

Talent driven company

MassiveMusic is a talent driven company, so establishing a stronghold in a city that attracts the greatest talents from all over the world will only strengthen the company. The company’s growth is not only caused by the influx of new talent, but also by the way it is run and what it stands for. Where the traditional music business is faltering and music production companies are feeling the pinch everywhere, MassiveMusic’s innovative and creative approach to music production, their understanding of what companies want, their uncanny ability to link the right music to brands and products and its innovative Sonic Branding process have turned MassiveMusic into one of the world’s most in-demand music agencies. And clients like Nike, Coca-Cola, Adidas, Carlsberg, Mercedes, Heineken and Volkswagen will attest to that.

The London team will build on that. Prior to signing with MassiveMusic, Managing Director Paul Reynolds spent 8 years managing London based music and sound design production company Adelphoi Music. Back in the nineties, Paul was a DJ and producer of Drum‘n’Bass and House music tracks and can still be known for the odd killer ‘vinyl only’ DJ set.

Creative Director Nico Steiger is a multi-talent, a musical Swiss army knife. With a background as composer, producer and engineer, his expertise can be utilized in just about every aspect of MassiveMusic’s business. Before joining MassiveMusic Nico ran the Berlin branch of Adelphoi Music for several years and worked collaboratively with Paul on countless national and international award winning music and sound design projects.

Talents Mark Adair and Florence Van Camerijk will back Nico and Paul. Mark is a classically trained composer extraordinaire with an impressive credit list for his work for commercials, documentaries and short films, and Florence is a singer-songwriter, performer and self-proclaimed music nerd who brings a touch of Dutch to the proceedings.

Launch Party

MassiveMusic will launch its London office on Thursday 17 November with a “Massive Party”. Many people know MassiveMusic from their annual Cannes party, but this time they are hooking up with record labels Warp, Mute and Bad Life to present some of the biggest sounds this side of the Atlantic. The launch party will be held in Victorian Vaults and the invitations are going fast now.
